The holiday season is almost upon us! For some of us that’s wonderful and for some of us it’s time to batten down the hatches for an upcoming onslaught of ravenous hordes. Regardless of the camp you find yourself in I’m sure you can find at least one thing to be thankful about in the midst of “it”.
This year we are thankful to be here at Mont Lamm. We are thankful the weather hasn’t been too ferocious and thankful we haven’t had a ton of snow because the snow blower hasn’t been picked up yet. We’re thankful the kittens have settled into their routine and are regularly regulating the rodent population in the horse barn. We’re thankful that home school has been a relative success for our kids and that some of the decisions we made about curriculum were good ones.
We are thankful to celebrate Thanksgiving with our whole family at their house – last year we had everyone at Mont Lamm. We are thankful for the lessons learned this season, our first full season of weddings, and for all the successful events we hosted. We are doubly thankful for all of our brides this year who have all been wonderful women in their own right – we could not have asked for more awesome ladies!
Last we are thankful for each other. I am thankful for Shannon and the kids, Shannon is thankful for me and the kids, and the kids are thankful for both of us…no I did not just put words in their mouths, they really are thankful! 😉
All that to say, I can’t wait to write another post next year to express how great it’s been in 2015 because I already know it will be! In the meantime, Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Happy Holidays, Happy Kwanza, Happy Winter Solstice, and anything else that strikes your preference for what these last few weeks of the year express! For we are thankful the very best life has to offer is being extended towards you as the year comes to a close.
